Today I want to write a post about 5 books that I ordered to start my 2019 in a positive way. The main topics of my book choices are always the financial and self-development aspects. Let’s start with the names!
Principles: Life and Work (Ray Dalio)
In this book Ray Dalio, a famous investor and “the Steve Jobs of investing”, share his main priciples who has learned during his successfull life. As the book name says, the tow main topics covered are Life and Work, but management and economics are also covered. I read that this book is very interesting for people who want to improve the quality of their life.
Elon Musk: How the Billionaire CEO of SpaceX and Tesla is Shaping our Future (Ashlee Vance)
This is a sort of biography of Elon Musk, a person I’m very interested in. That’s why I want to read this book, to deeply understand (or try to) how Elon’s mind works. I’m pretty sure that this book contains many useful advices.
Zero to One: Notes on Start Ups, or How to Build the Future (Peter Thiel)
This book cover a very important topic: the art of starting to do the important things in your life. The problem of our lives is that we may have uncountable ideas or goals but we never start working on them, beacuse starting is most difficult thing. Reading this book, I’m sure I can improve my ability to work on my ideas and goals (I have many goals for 2019, I’ll write a post about them, stay tuned!)
The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do, and How to Change (Charles Duhigg)
One more important topic: habits. We have in our lives many bad habits (like smoking, procrastinating and many more…). This book tries to teach us how to defeat the bad habits and how to start our 2019 with new good and healthy habits.
The Power of Now (Eckhart Tolle)
Guess what? Another important topic is covered in this book, and it’s the importance of today, of our present. This book is a sort of trip that teach us the importance of understanding and appreciating what we have today in order to have a better tomorrow.
Bonus: Armada (Ernest Cline)
Yes, I know, I said 5 books. Moreover, this is not a financial or self-development book. This is fanta-novel from the author of Ready Player One. I watched the film and I truly loved it, so I decided to read this book.
Obviosly, when I’ll read these books I write a post to let you know if I liked them. Just stay tuned!
(If you buy one or more books from the links I inserted in the post, I earn a little commission as you may imagine, but for you it’s completely free so…Thank you guys!)
