My 2020 Stocks Watchlist

As you surely know, we’re living a very difficult moment. Covid-19 has blocked practically the whole world, and we can see the result of this in the stock market.

All over the world the market crashed. For example, the most important Italian index, FTSE MIB, dropped almost 45% from its peak reached on February 19, 2020. Now it has recovered a little bit, but in any case this is a huge crash.

When the market goes down it’s the best moment to buy. This is why in the last months I saved money: I expected a crash in the market and now I’m ready to invest my money for the long-term.

I have a personal watchlist of the stock that I’m monitoring day by day, waiting for a lower price which I consider more suitable for the purchase. Today I would like to share with you my stock watchlist, and I’ll be grateful if you share your opinion (and hopefully your watchlist) with me čÖé

Let’s check out my 2020 Stock Watchlist!

Yes, I know. It’s a long list, but I like the idea of sharing it with you. As I said, I would like to collect comments about the list, in order to remove bad companies and add new good companies.

My list is constantly updated, but the values (Dividend rate, P/E, EPS) are static. This mean that if you read this article days after its publication you may find old numbers. I promise you that I’ll try to keep them updated for a while.

I already bought some of these stocks with a little part of my liquidity. For the rest of the liquidity, I’m waiting for new developments in the stock market. At the moment my favorite broker is Degiro, and it’s the broker I’m currently using to build my Stock Portfolio. It is characterized very low commissions, and if you register from the previous link, we’ll both receive 20 EUR of free commissions.

I’m very curious about your watchlist. Feel free to share it with us, if you like čÖé

I hope this article will be useful for you, and for any advice I’m always here!

  1. Hi Dominic, great list!
I agree that now is a good time buy – so many companies are under-valued.

A few thoughts on your list – first, I would take off Under Armour and replace it with Nike or Lululemon. I see a lot more growth potential in those 2 over the long term. AMD is a good one, you might want to also check out NVDA and MU in that same space. In addition to SQ, you might want to check out PYPL, good potential there. I love the idea of buying Ford right now – so cheap! Although they currently stopped paying dividends čÖü when they reinstate their dividend, it should be a really good yield. TWTR is another volatile stock that may dip low before it goes up again. TSLA is an interesting that stock that moves around a lot, sometimes completely opposite to the market!

I’m interested in how you chose Bank of Nova Scotia out of the Canadian banks. I think all the Canadian banks are great buy and hold. I hold RBC (RY) but I think you would also do well with TD or BMO.

I own AAPL, F, ENB, RY and BCE in my buy and hold portfolio. The last 3 are Canadian companies and I like getting Canadian dollar dividends because I live in Canada and all my expenses are in Canadian dollars! Recently I have made great returns day trading TWTR, FB, and NFLX. I wouldn’t get back into NFLX right now, they’re trading near 52 week highs so I don’t believe they are under-valued.

It will be interesting to see what the Q1 earnings reports over the next few weeks do to the share prices. You might get your buying opportunities then!

    Good luck!
